He should have known better

June 8, 2007

If you are going to quote the Beatles in court, make sure that you spell the band name right.

Apparently, when charged with a crime in the state of Montana, you have to fill out a form asking for a “recommendation as to what you think the Court should do in this case.”

According to the Smoking Gun, burglary suspect Andrew McCormack wrote: “Like the Beetles say, ‘Let It Be.'” Unfortunately for McCormack, the judge was a true Beatles fan, and did not appreciate the mis-spelled band name.

In a sentencing memorandum, he started off with “Hey Jude, Do You Want to Know a Secret“, and continued to lambast the unlucky Fool on the Hill with the help of correctly spelled song titles by the British super group.

Reading the entire memorandum here, should ensure you a good laugh, whether you are a Beatles fan or not!
